Tom Gormley – President’s Message

Though the weather was quite warm, all who attended enjoyed the outing to
Durango, hosted by the Prinslow’s and Freas’s. The campground was north of town
and cooled off somewhat in the evenings. We gathered at the host’s site most
afternoons for happy hour and one time for games (after we got kicked out of the
diner). And two new members joined us for many of the activities, and one was even eligible to vote in the meeting we held.
Terry Templeman is heading up the Nominations Committee this year. He needs your help to make sure that we have a
full slate of officers and committee folk for 2025. We need to hold elections in September so that the new officers can
be installed at the holiday party in December.
Our next outing is to La Junta in southeast Colorado September 18-22. You may be able to join us still as the KOA does
have open sites as well as furnished cabins. Contact the KOA first and then email the Gormley’s if you choose to join us.
Right now, we are one RV short of quorum for a meeting.
And don’t forget to email Bruce Robinson in September if you plan to attend our October 18 outing. It should be a fun
gathering touring the federal Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder and then enjoying lunch at the eclectic
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewery.
Till we eat again!6
